Vivo is a Chinese Android smartphone manufacturer founded in 2009. It is owned by Chinese Multinational company BBK Electronics which is also the owner of another popular Chinese brand Oppo. It started to expand its market outside China since 2014 and currently, they are operating in over 100 countries.
History of Vivo Phones
Even though Vivo was founded back in 2009, it was a relatively unknown name in their early time. But within a few years, it became one of the biggest brands inside and outside of China. in their In 2017, it was the 5th largest smartphone vendor in the world with 100.7 million total shipments and a huge 36% growth rate comparing to the previous year. Their position was just under Samsung, Apple, Huawei, and Oppo. Even Xiaomi was under them in the 6th position with 96 million shipments (source: counterpointresearch). It had a total of 7% smartphone market share of the world in 2017. They were the 3rd most popular brand in the big markets of India and China. Vivo in Bangladesh
Vivo officially started its Bangladesh journey in December 2017. There was no known press coverage. But their social media page started to receive instant followers and reached a massive amount of audience within the next few months. It started their journey with four phones Y53, Y65, V7, and V7+. They primarily established their showrooms and authorized dealers in Dhaka, Chittagong, Barisal, Bhola, Faridpur, Narayanganj, Mymensingh, Rangpur, and Sylhet. In 2018, Vivo continued to grow in Bangladesh with successful releases like Y71, Y81 and Y81i. In 2019, it introduced V15 and V15 Pro with pop-up front camera and max full-view display for the first time in Bangladesh.
